A Müller-Brockmann grid artboard for placing type, images, shapes and SVG — the paste-up table between the Vector Editor and the PDF Editor. Two modes share one panel: Poster (the sheet, which also serves as the cover editor) and Document (pages, masters, threaded text, booklet PDF).
Bench fonts (Crimson Pro, Jost) live in poster/fonts/, listed by file name in fonts.json; the export libraries live in poster/vendor/, so the editor runs without a network. Everything stays on this device. Save Layout writes a JSON workspace you can reload; nothing is uploaded anywhere. Undo covers every change on the sheet (a drag is one step, so is a bout of typing); the Layers tab can hide a layer, which keeps it out of the export and the proof, or delete it. Select several (⇧-click, or drag a marquee on the sheet) and the panel turns to Arrange: align, distribute, match the primary's size; one element's panel shows where it sits on the grid — column, span, baseline row — and takes typed values. Guide colours are yours to set under Canvas & Grid and are remembered on this device. Font files added under Fonts are kept in this browser and embedded at export; a layout only names the families it uses. Cover presets are trim sizes; choose Front only, Full wrap or Dust jacket and the spine, flaps and bleed are added to the sheet with the folds shown. Sheet presets are true size — 72 px to the inch, so a Letter sheet is 612 × 792 and the print PDF comes out at that size with a 3 mm bleed.

Drop a paper's .icc (Canon installs one per paper with the driver) on Output and it is baked to a lookup table kept in this browser. Proof lays the sheet as that paper will print it over the artboard; Paper White tints it with the stock's cast; Gamut paints the pixels the paper cannot reach in rust, at the ΔE you set. Colour inputs show L*a*b* before and after, and palette swatches carry a ring: green prints, amber is close, rust is out. Proof Strip PDF prints every palette swatch as a 30 mm square with the Lab the profile predicts, a 21-step grey ramp, paper white and 100 % K — print it on the paper's driver preset and hold it against the screen. What you find by eye goes in Print as under a colour: a substitute that is swapped in at export for that paper only, shown as adjusted on the swatch. Those substitutions are the paper notes — export them as JSON (edit in the Scratchpad, import back). Print with the driver's colour matching on; the editor shows, it does not yet convert.
Stencils and lettering arrive as SVG from Xetcher or the Vector Editor; finished sheets go out as PNG or print PDF, and PDF pages carry on to the PDF Editor for imposition. Palettes and layouts are plain JSON.
